Mild temperatures for the next few days with progressively increasing clouds

Bend, OR (KTVZ) -

It will be another beautiful fall day today with mostly clear skies, light winds, and mild temperatures. A weak ridge of high pressure is moving across the region which will have afternoon highs clocking in at around 7-8 degrees above the seasonal average. Normal for this time of year is in the lower 60s but temperatures today will be in the mid and upper 60s. Some areas will approach the 70s today, but might have a better chance reaching 70 tomorrow.

While today should stay mostly sunny, you’ll notice a few more clouds in the sky Wednesday and variably cloudy skies by Thursday. Thursday will be the set-up day ahead of our next big event.

Rain returns Friday afternoon and showers should continue into the night. The mountains will likely see a few flurries mingled in, but temperatures won’t be cold enough for heavy snow right away.

Rain and the chance for a wintry mix in the high desert continues Saturday and Sunday. Little snow accumulation is expected, but you might notice flakes falling and some snow sticking to grassy areas. It will be a wet and chilly weekend but the wet weather should taper off early next week. The forecast will likely change over the coming days, so make sure you’re tuning in for the latest updates.
