Wildhorse Harley-Davidson Kawasaki in Bend closes after 26 years

BEND, Ore. (KTVZ) – The Wildhorse Harley-Davidson Kawasaki location on the north side of Bend is closing after nearly 26 years in business. The company announced the closure on Friday, marking the end of its long-standing presence in the Central Oregon motorcycle community.

The dealership has operated in its current building for almost 26 years, serving as a venue for maintenance and social gatherings. In a statement released on social media, the company thanked its customers for their support throughout its decades of operation in the region.

In a post on the company's Facebook page, representatives expressed appreciation for the local motorcycle community. "It is with a heavy heart (and a full tank of gratitude) that we announce the closure of our Wildhorse Harley-Davidson Kawasaki location," the statement read. The post noted that the business had been part of the Central Oregon riding scene even before the current location opened.

The company reflected on the history of the facility, which served as a social and mechanical hub for local riders. "For almost 26 years this building has been home to bikes, laughs, late-night wrenching sessions and some of the best people in the two-wheel world," the company stated. The message concluded by telling riders to "ride hard, stay safe and thanks for every mile."

The announcement focused on the relationship between the staff and the motorcyclists who frequented the shop. "To every rider who trusted us with their ride: thank you," the post read. "You weren't just customers — you were the reason we opened our doors every day. We'll miss the roar of engines pulling up."

KTVZ News reached out to Wildhorse Harley-Davidson Kawasaki to determine the specific reason for the closure. The company has not yet provided a response regarding the factors that led to the decision to shut down the north Bend branch.

News sources will update the story with the company's response once more information becomes available.
