Mt. Bachelor expands with new 70-room hotel and outdoor basecamp

BEND, Ore. (KTVZ) -- Mt. Bachelor announced it will open Trailhead Lodge, a new 70-room hotel and outdoor basecamp located in the former LOGE Bend property. Reservations for the year-round facility are scheduled to open in early summer 2026.

The lodge sits on 6.6 acres backing directly to the Deschutes National Forest. Located less than 10 minutes from downtown Bend and about 20 minutes from the Mt. Bachelor ski area, the property is designed to serve as a hub for skiing, snowboarding, biking and hiking.

John Merriman serves as the president and general manager of Mt. Bachelor. He described the property as a way to expand the resort's presence into the Bend community throughout the year. "Trailhead Lodge is a natural extension of the Mt. Bachelor experience," Merriman said. "We're excited to create a space in Bend where our community can gather year-round – whether that's fueling up for a powder day, meeting friends for après, or relaxing after a summer ride or hike. This is about building connection beyond the mountain and giving our guests another way to experience everything that makes this place special."

The property is designed with exterior-access rooms and includes pet-friendly accommodations. Amenities for guests include a pool, a hot tub and various outdoor spaces intended for use from morning until evening.

Beyond its role as a hotel, Trailhead Lodge will function as an event space and social destination. The facility will serve regional wine and local beer on tap to both visitors and local residents. The site aims to combine the atmosphere of the mountain with the local culture of the city of Bend.

Mt. Bachelor officials stated that more details, including specific opening dates and booking information, will be shared in the coming months.
