Problem Solvers: Lawsuit and customer accusations surround local roofing company

KTVZ-TV

BEND, Ore. (KTVZ) -- Complaints from Central Oregon residents involving local company 541 Roofing allege customers paid thousands of dollars in deposits for roofing work, but now they can no longer reach the company.

One customer posted on social media they paid an $8,500 deposit before communication stopped, while another reported customer complaint alleges a $3,500 deposit paid before the company no-showed their appointment.

Court documents filed in Deschutes County show SRS Distribution Inc. is suing 541 Brand LLC, doing business as 541 Roofing & Heating Coil, and Eric Levens, alleging the company owes more than $152,000 for materials, supplies and equipment.

A separate federal tax lien recorded in Deschutes County names Levens and lists an unpaid balance of more than $129,000.

The Oregon Construction Contractors Board’s online complaint history also shows multiple disputes involving the contractor over the past 10 years, including one listed as pending.

KTVZ News has reached out to 541 Roofing for comment via phone and email but has not received a response.

KTVZ’s Claire Elmer has contacted the Better Business Bureau, Oregon Attorney General’s Office, and Construction Contractors Board, and submitted a public records request related to a reported police complaint. She will also be speaking with one of the customers who says they lost thousand in a deposit. Tune in for the full report tonight on KTVZ News at 6:00p.m.
