Hot Friday, weekend cooldown with gusty winds Saturday

BEND, Ore. (KTVZ) - Central Oregon will be hot and dry today with high temperatures returning to the 90s. Wildfire smoke will continue to impact parts of the region today.

Winds will stay light out of the north, but they're expected to pick up on Saturday. A cold front moves through tomorrow, bringing cooler air and some gusty winds.

We'll dip into the 40s and 50s again early Saturday morning.

A Fire Weather Watch takes effect at 11am - 11pm Saturday. Gusty winds and low relative humidity will create critical fire weather conditions, allowing any fires that develop to spread quickly. Not great news for the fire suppression efforts throughout the area.

We’ll drop back into the mid 80s Saturday, then cool even further Sunday, with highs in the upper 70s to low 80s.

Monday will be similar to Sunday, with highs in the low 80s under mostly sunny skies with a light breeze.

The heat returns Tuesday through at least Friday, with high temperatures in the low 90s. We're seeing mostly sunny conditions for the next several days with no rain in sight.
