Bend welcomes two new food truck, tap house venues
As business gear up for reopening, two new options - and more to come
BEND, Ore. (KTVZ ) -- Many people love to frequent food truck locations here in Central Oregon, and there are actually two new locations that you should keep an eye out for.
The first location is the Midtown Yacht Club in Bend. It's located at Fourth Street and Quimby Avenue, and is currently under construction. The location has been approved for six food trucks and plans to open the first week of June.
The new tap house is waiting on the Oregon Liquor Control Commission to approve its liquor license, and will provide outdoor and indoor seating for guests.
Owner Josh Marquette said Monday, "As you can see by the sounds, it's a very busy area that I believe has been underserved by the food and beverage community.
"You've got Greenwood, and you have Third Street, but really in between this area, you have nothing served, as far as food and beverages to the 2000- plus homes. So we're really excited to get into the community and we are excited to be here."
The second location opening up soon is Crosscut Warming Hut No. 5 on Southwest Mill View Way, near the Old Mill District. It'll have three food trucks on site and has already been approved by the OLCC to serve alcohol.
They plan to open by the end of May.
The Deschutes County health inspector told NewsChannel 21 there are 204 mobile food unit licenses currently in the county and another dozen more are in process of being approved for a license.
