Scappoose man killed, Bend man injured in Hwy. 22E crash
IDANHA, Ore. (KTVZ) -- A Scappoose man was killed and a Bend man was injured early Sunday morning in a two-vehicle crash on state Highway 22E near Idanha, Oregon State Police reported.
OSP troopers and emergency personnel responded around 1:30 a.m. to the reported collision near milepost 64 in Linn County.
A preliminary investigation found that Brian Beveridge, 48, of Scappoose, was driving a Subaru Legacy westbound on the highway and crossed into the oncoming lane, striking an eastbound Nissan Frontier driven by Matthew Baker, 49, of Bend, troopers said.
Beveridge sustained fatal injuries and died at the scene, OSP said. Baker was taken to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
OSP was assisted at the crash scene by the Detroit/Idanha Fire Department and ODOT.
