Deschutes County names 5 admin finalists

Deschutes County announced Thursday five candidates who will interview for the county administrator position in Bend on Sept. 16-17.

The public is invited to meet the candidates at a reception on Sunday, September 16, 2012 from 4:30 6:00 p.m. The reception will be held in the Deschutes Services Building, 1300 NW Wall Street, Bend, in the Barnes/Sawyer conference rooms on the first floor.

The county administrator is appointed by and serves at the discretion of the Board of County Commissioners.

Candidates and their last three positions:

Donald Bohn: Assistant County Administrator, Washington County, Oregon; Deputy County Administrator, Washington County; Administrative Analyst, Washington County.

Dana Hlavac: Deputy County Manager, Mohave County, Arizona; Public Defender, Mohave County; Assistant District Attorney, 3rd Judicial District, Arizona.

Michael McNees: Chief Operating Officer, USA Track and Field; County Administrator, Blaine County, Idaho; City Manager, Sarasota, Florida.

David Meriwether: County Administrator, Hood River County, Oregon; City Manager, Silverton, Oregon; City Manager, Hope, Arkansas.

Gail Shibley: Administrator, Center for Health Protection, Oregon Health Authority, State of Oregon; Senior Advisor to the Secretary, US Department of Labor, Washington, DC; Director of External Communications, US Department of Transportation.
