ALBUQUERQUE, New Mexico (KOAT) — New details have been released on the attempted cockpit breach on a Delta Air Lines flight from Los Angeles to Nashville last week.

The flight was forced to make an emergency landing at the Albuquerque Sunport on Friday.

According to the criminal complaint, Asiel Norton rushed to the front of the plane, pounding on the flight deck door.

Norton allegedly pushed a flight attendant and was heard screaming “We need to land this plane!”

Passengers and crew members on the flight restrained Norton and carried him to the back of the plane.

Norton did not appear intoxicated and was not served alcohol, according to the criminal complaint.

After the plane landed in Albuquerque, police and the FBI arrested Norton.

Norton will be in federal court Tuesday morning.
