Ochoco Forest Road 42 now open

KTVZ

The closure on Forest Road 42 from the junction on Forest Road 22 east to the junction with Forest Road 4210 has been rescinded. Warmer weather conditions have made the road passable for both logging traffic and public use.

As of yesterday (3/27/13), the 42 road was still blocked by snow up near Big Summit Prairie.

The closure on Forest Road 4210 and the snowmobile trails in the area is still in effect. K-9 timber sale operations are ongoing, so please be aware that there will be traffic related to logging operations on Forest Road 42.

Slater Turner, District Ranger for Lookout Mountain Ranger District, said, ” I want to thank the public for their cooperation for adhering to our closure orders, which helped the Ochoco and the Timber Purchaser to continue to operate in a safe manner.”
