The overall Western theme of this quaint Central Oregon town makes for its own delight but the people are what make Sisters what it is – an amazing place to visit, to explore, to live. Filled with innovative, artistic, community spirited individuals this little town has a lot to offer. Sisters has it all. Golf, whitewater rafting, backpacking, camping, biking, hiking, horseback riding, climbing, and fishing you name it but the summer in Sisters brings a few unbeatable shows to town.

Wild Times at the Sister’s Rodeo

For 72 years Sister’s Oregon has been entertaining rodeo fans at the Sister’s Rodeo. A grass root effort that started as an amateur event in 1940, it is now a highly respected professional tour. This year the rodeo events begin on Wednesday June 6th with the newly added Xtreme Bulls, followed by the rodeo dance at 9pm. Events run throughout the day Thursday – Sunday. For good ol’ fashion, all American fun, the rodeo parade is a must do in downtown Sisters beginning at 9:30 on Saturday morning. Rolling along Cascade Avenue, this jam packed event will be sure to please with floats, bands, antique cars, equestrian teams, a national award winning rescue dog act and rodeo queens, past and present.

For the artistic and crafty at heart, it is the world’s largest quilt show……

1300 quilts on display through downtown Sisters. Artisans from as far away as South Africa and Japan visit for this fibre arts celebration. Mark your calendars for the second week of July. Classes and lectures run all week long with the main event starting at 9:00am on Saturday, July 14th. For more information please visit
