SWAT team finds fugitive in Madras-area home

KTVZ

A Jefferson County SWAT team found and arrested a 24-year-old fugitive hiding near the furnace in his girlfriend’s Madras home Tuesday evening, a week after he reportedly crashed his car in a rural area west of town, prompting an extensive manhunt, Sheriff Jim Atkins said Wednesday.

Atkins said he received a time that Tyler Fuller was in his girlfriend’s double-wide manufactured home at 23 SE Dee Lane, just south of Madras. He said he called in the SWAT team due to Fuller’s past threats to kill police officers.

The team members searched the house and found Fuller hiding in a small space near the furnace, taking him into custody without incident, the sheriff said.

Fuller was arrested shortly after 7 p.m. and taken to the county jail, booked on two no-bail statewide felony warrants, one for parole violation and the other for assault.
