KTVZ

Fire crews were called Saturday afternoon to douse a small brushfire burning beneath power lines beside a road in Powell Butte, officials said.

Crook County Fire and Rescue crews were dispatched around 4:30 p.m. to the reported fire at the corner of SW Bussett and Reif roads.

Crews arrived within three minutes to find the small blaze and brought it under control quickly, holding it to less than a quarter-acre, officials said.

A total of three engines, two tenders and 10 firefighters responded to the blaze, which damaged at least one power pole.

The cause of the fire was under investigation.
