Ronald McDonald House Charities offers grants

KTVZ

Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Oregon has launched its annual community grant awards program to support other local nonprofit agencies whose programs directly improve the health and well-being of children and families in our region.

Organizations serving children in Crook, Deschutes, Grant, Harney, Jefferson, Klamath and/or Lake County are invited to submit requests for up to $5,000 before July 11, 2014.

“Our impact in Central and Eastern Oregon reaches beyond the work we do within our own program in Bend,” shared Kristy Krugh, executive director. “Through these grants, we partner with other agencies to meet a wide variety of needs for the children who live in our communities. We are also able to magnify customer contributions made in our partner McDonald’s restaurants’ donation boxes with a match from our global charity.”

Net proceeds from donations made at donation boxes in participating McDonald’s restaurants across Central and Eastern Oregon directly and solely fund this program. These funds are then matched, dollar for dollar, by Ronald McDonald House Charities, Inc. doubling the community’s contribution.

Since 2004, Ronald McDonald House grants have redistributed more than $225,000 to the Central and Eastern Oregon community, serving children and families in need.
