City of Bend seeks committee applicants

The City of Bend is seeking applicants for positions on the Budget Committee, the Arts, Beautification and Culture Commission, and the Bend Economic Development Advisory Board.

The Budget Committee has one open position. Committee members are appointed to four year terms and provide recommendations to the City Council for adoption of the biennial budget.

There is one opening on the ABC Commission. Members are appointed for three year terms to provide recommendations on the City’s role in supporting the arts, beauty, and culture.

The BEDAB also has one open position. Board members are appointed for three year terms to advise the City Council on economic development matters and to ensure that the City promotes a supportive business environment to foster economic growth. To balance the existing board membership, the City is looking for representatives from the high tech, aviation, and outdoor recreation and equipment industries. Board commitment time includes attendance at monthly meetings and at least one subcommittee meeting. A high level of involvement with the applicant’s industry in Bend is preferred.

Applications will be accepted until 5 p.m. on Friday, December 18.
