Madras Burger King employee, brother jailed in holdup
A 27-year-old Madras man was arrested Monday in the holdup earlier this month of the Madras Burger King – an “inside job” that police said he committed with his older brother, who wore a skeleton mask and pulled a gun on another employee.
Last Thursday, Timothy Edward Walker was arrested on charges he was the gunman dressed in black with a skeleton mask who held up the Madras Burger King on Southwest Highway 97 around closing time on Friday, June 10, said Detective Sergeant Steve Webb.
The investigation developed information that implicated Walker and his brother, Kristopher Walker, 27, in the crime, Webb said Tuesday.
The detective said the Walkers planned the holdup and it took place when Kristopher was working the closing shift with an unsuspecting co-worker.
Webb said it’s believed that Kristopher Walker, while taking out the trash, was contacted by Timothy, who followed him back inside with a gun, confronting the fellow employee and demanding cash shortly after 10 p.m. that night.
Police recovered some of the cash taken during the robbery at Timothy Walker’s home, as well as the gun believed to have been used in the crime, Webb said.
Timothy Walker was booked into the Jefferson County Jail last week, charged with first-degree robbery, first-degree theft, second-degree burglary, unlawful use of a weapon and menacing. Initial bail was set at $140,000.
Kristopher Walker also was lodged in the Madras jail, facing first-degree charges of robbery, theft and conspiracy to commit robbery. His bail was set at $215,000 pending an initial court appearance Tuesday afternoon.
The investigation is continuing, and anyone with information regarding the robbery is urged to contact Madras Police Officer Mike Rochelle or Detective Mel Brown at 541-475-2424.
