Prineville PD joins statewide seat belt, car seat blitz

The Prineville Police Department is joining other Oregon Law Enforcement agencies in a statewide safety belt and child car seat traffic enforcement “blitz’ from August 22 nd through September 4 th .

This enhanced enforcement is provided through overtime funding from the Oregon Department of Transportation and the USDOT’s National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

This enforcement focuses on proper use of Safety Belts and Child Seats. Officers will also be looking for Minors Riding in Open Pickup Beds, Cell Phone use, and Speed violations.

Properly using safety belts, the appropriate child car seat, and driving at safe speeds, saves lives.

The Prineville Police Department encourages everyone to drive safely!
