Klamath sheriff accused of violating release agreement

KTVZ

KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. (AP) — A Klamath County judge is deciding whether to revoke Sheriff Frank Skrah’s release agreement ahead of a February trial on accusations he roughed up suspects.

Skrah has been out of custody and allowed to stay sheriff. But to be released without bail, he agreed to not participate in criminal stops or patrol the streets.

Prosecutors say Skrah has violated the agreement a dozen times.

Skrah’s attorney, Rosalind Lee, asked a judge Thursday not to revoke the sheriff’s release. She said any violation occurred in the interest of public and officer safety.

The Herald and News reports (http://bit.ly/2e6Yatv ) the hearing was scheduled to continue Friday.
