KTVZ

SALEM, Ore. (AP) — A member of a white supremacist gang has been convicted of murder in the death of a fellow inmate.

David Bartol was accused of fatally stabbing Gavin Siscel with a homemade knife while the two were at the Marion County Jail in 2013. The Statesman Journal reports (https://is.gd/vpU5kc) that the victim was serving a 30-day sentence for contempt of court while Bartol was awaiting trial for a robbery.

Marion County prosecutors say he could get the death penalty.

Separately, a Multnomah County jury in August found Bartol guilty of torturing two fellow Krude Rude Brood gang members. Bartol was accused of sanding gang members’ tattoos off, injecting them with heroin and shooting them. He was sentenced to 55 years in prison for attempted murder and other crimes.
