TIGARD, Ore. (AP) — A downed power line in Tigard hit and injured a woman passing by on a bike and blocked the only exit for a parking area holding area school buses.

The downed line early Wednesday cause a local power outage and meant school started at least two hours late for students in the Tigard-Tualatin School District.

The Oregonian/OregonLive reports (http://bit.ly/2gBwj99) that a 50-year-old man faces suspicion of driving under the influence after crashing into a power pole.

Jim Wolf, Tigard police spokesman, says an officer standing outside rushed to the woman’s aid and she was taken to the burn unit at Legacy Emanuel Medical Center.
