Toddler struck by vehicle in Eugene dies of injuries

EUGENE, Ore. (AP) – Authorities say a 22-month-old boy died after he was hit by a vehicle that was backing out of an apartment driveway in Eugene.

Police spokeswoman Melinda McLaughlin said the child was struck shortly before 8 p.m. Thursday, and died at the hospital.

She said the driver, a 26-year-old woman, is cooperating with the investigation.
