No. 19 Oregon State women rout San Jose State 110-62
CORVALLIS, Ore. (AP) – Marie Gulich and Taylor Kalmer combined for 41 points on 17-of-23 shooting and 19th-ranked Oregon State blasted San Jose State 110-62 on Sunday, breaking 100 points for the first time since 2015.
The Beavers (6-2) were high-octane from the start, posting the program’s highest single-quarter score 31-16 after the first 10 minutes. Kalmer scored eight of her 19 points in the first quarter, Gulich six of her 22 and Katie McWilliams scored all 10 in the first quarter. Kat Tudor finished with 15 points with four 3-pointers, Taya Corosdale added 13 and Joanna Grymek 10 with four blocks.
Oregon State opened the game shooting 79 percent and ended at 63 percent (46-72), tying the program’s third-highest point total.
San Jose State (2-7) was held to 29-percent shooting (22-75). Myzhanique Ladd equaled a career-high 19 points for the Spartans and Taylor Turney 16.
Grymek drove for a layup and pushed the Beavers over 100 points with 5:06 to play. Oregon State dominated inside, out-rebounding the Spartans 54-27, outscoring them 58-24 in the paint and 16-2 on second-chance points.
