Hoodoo, due much-needed snow, sets Friday opening

With some very welcome new snow now and a lot more in the forecast, Hoodoo Ski Area announced Tuesday it will finally open for the season on Friday.

With a National Weather Service forecast predicting 14-24 inches of snowfall today and Wednesday, Hoodoo Ski Area is planning to open its slopes for the 2017-2018 season this Friday, Dec. 22. Assuming optimal conditions, the lifts will run from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m., with a possibility for night skiing on a portion of the mountain from 3:30-9 p.m.

Assuming optimal conditions, Hoodoo will resume its Winter Break schedule, with lifts running 9 a.m – 9 p.m. Dec. 23, 26-31 and Jan. 1-6. Lifts will run 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. on Christmas Eve, Christmas and Sundays. Schedule updates will be posted to skihoodoo.com and Hoodoo’s Facebook, Instagram and Twitter accounts.

The annual Hoodoo New Year’s Eve Celebration includes lifts running from 9 a.m. – 9 p.m. The bar and restaurant will be open until midnight with live music by Leroy & The Sidekicks from 6-midnight in the lodge. Guests can also enjoy music and dancing at the first annual Hoodoo Snow Ball, plus professional-style fireworks on the mountain shortly after 9 p.m. at no extra charge.

Hoodoo season passes and AnyCards (five lift tickets that can be used any time with anyone, no exceptions or blackout dates) are available at skihoodoo.com or by calling 541-822-3799. In keeping with its reputation as the most family friendly ski area in the Northwest, Hoodoo will also now give free lift tickets to any child age seven and under all season long.
