Local Alert Weather – Wed. PM

Happy Wednesday evening, everyone!

Calm conditions are ahead this evening. We’ll be dry and have mostly clear to partly cloudy skies overhead. Lows will fall into the low to mid 20s with light winds out of the south. Keep in mind any snow or frost that melted today will likely freeze overnight creating spots of ice for this evening and tomorrow morning.

Thursday begins on a dry note with partly cloudy skies turning mostly cloudy by the afternoon. Highs will reach the low to mid 40s, which is a few degrees above average.

A warm front leaves our region with fairly high snow levels around 8,000′ by the end of the day Thursday. We’ll be looking at rain showers to arrive by the afternoon then becoming scattered through the overnight hours. The passes will likely see a rain/snow mix with spots of ice on the roadways. There is a chance we could see freezing rain by the end of the day Thursday.

Mt. Bachelor will see some heavy snow, but it will be wet snow as snow levels rise. Temperatures for the Cascades will be in the low to mid 30s for daytime highs with 20s for overnight lows.

Friday will see the end of the showers with a chance for rain remaining. Overall skies will be clearer and we’ll see temperatures in the upper 40s and lower 50s.
