Local Alert Weather – Thurs. PM
Happy Thursday evening, everyone!
A nice warm day for Central Oregon! Temperatures topped out in the mid to upper 70s and lower 80s. High clouds were with us this morning and increased by the afternoon. We’re also seeing a little smoke from the prescribed burns in the area. Partly cloudy skies are rolling in this evening and will be with us overnight.
Tonight expect partly cloudy to mostly clear skies. Lows will be well above average in the low to mid 40s. Overnight lows for the next several nights will be above the freezing mark for all of Central Oregon. Those closer to bodies of water or in the higher elevations might get close to the lower 30s, but not much cooler than that. If you have plants you are concerned about it doesn’t hurt to cover them up!
Friday brings warm temperatures again back into the upper 70s and lower 80s for some. More clouds will be overhead. We’ll see partly cloudy skies becoming mostly cloudy through the afternoon.
As we head into the weekend the next system will push up from the southwest. In the afternoon on Saturday we have a slight chance for a few thunderstorms, but we’ll be mostly cloudy to overcast apart from the slight chance. Temperatures will be slightly cooler, but still well above average in the low to mid 70s.
Sunday will see partly sunny skies and has the chance for a few thunderstorms in the afternoon. A few rain showers will be in the area by the afternoon. Temperatures will still be in the low to mid 70s.
The beginning of the week will be dry with highs in the upper 70s and lower 80s.
