KANSAS CITY, Missouri (KMBC) — Kansas City doctors say hospital beds are filling up fast saying not enough people are wearing masks and social distancing.
The chief medical officer of the University of Kansas Health System said his hospital is full and said that the situation could turn into a crisis if people don’t make changes now.
“Don’t wait for public health officials to tell you to mask when you’re indoors. Don’t wait for a public health initiative to tell you not to gather in large crowds, or go inside for a large group gathering. You need to take the warning now. You need to heed the truth,” said Dr. Steven Stites, of the University of Kansas Health System.
Stites said the lack of mandates now is a real challenge, adding younger people are now becoming COVID-19 patients.
