Summer in Sisters means faire time
Sisters got into the summer spirit by throwing a summer faire this weekend.
Dozens of vendors lined the park in downtown Sisters.
Saturday was slow, due to the stormy weather. But Sunday, the sun was shining and things seemed to pick up.
From almonds to soaps, vendors showcased their arts and crafts.
And for Kirk Hoover, who runs Fashionanigans, this is the first big show for his store.
Hoover sells whimsical jewelry and magnet items, from up-cycle dominoes to Scrabble tiles and bottle caps.
“I have an online shop at Etsy, but I wanted to get out into the community and actually have people come through and physically feel it,” Hoover said. “Because this is what I really love to do is to sell to people coming up and it’s a lot of fun.”
Hoover is new to the area, having moved from Southern California last year after his wife came to love the Sisters Quilt Show.
Beginning on July 4th, Sisters will hold a Roundup of Gems event, featuring rocks and minerals, at Sisters Elementary School.
