Prineville Rotary ‘Dollars for Scholars’ raises nearly $13,000

The Crook County/Prineville Rotary generated $12,935 in contributions to its 19 th annual “Dollars for Scholars” Radiothon, broadcast on Country’s Greatest Hits KRCO on Tuesday.

The day-long radio broadcast (6 am to 6 pm) originated from the Bowman Museum in downtown Prineville, and featured local Rotarians reading advertisements for local businesses and song requests for listeners who contributed to the Rotary Scholarship fund.

“The Prineville and Crook County community is so generous, and we thank them for helping us provide high school seniors with a chance to realize their dream of furthering their education,” said Crook County Rotary President Mike Hornback.

To date, the Rotary Dollars for Scholars program has raised over $198,000 to benefit Crook County students. Online donations can still be made to the Rotary Dollars for Scholars program at www.crookcountyrotary.com.

KRCO-AM contributed the airtime to make the Radiothon possible, as it has since 1996. The station celebrated its 64 th year of service to Prineville and Crook County on February 1 st . KRCO Program Director Donna Britt hosted the Radiothon along with air personality Dave Clemens.
