Prineville burglary suspect caught on way out
A burglar alarm brought Prineville police to a feed store early Monday, just in time to arrest a Terrebonne man as he tried to escape by breaking out the front door, carrying four stolen rifles and a pellet gun, officers said.
Police responded around 4:12 a.m. to the alarm at Ochoco Feed, 201 NW 10 th Street, said Sgt. JoAnn Bauer.
They arrived and arrested William Ray Worthington, 27, as he was breaking out the store’s front door to escape, Bauer said. He had broken into the business through a back door, also breaking a couple of windows inside to get to the office area, she added.
Worthington was arrested carrying stolen items that included four rifles, a pellet gun, a box of ammunition and cleaning supplies, the sergeant said.
He was booked into the Crook County jail on charges of second-degree burglary, four counts of first-degree theft, four counts of felon in possession of a firearm, first-degree mischief and possession of burglary tools. Bail was set at $55,000.
