Deschutes clerk warns: Don’t mail those ballots
Deschutes County Clerk Nancy Blankenship is warning voters not to mail their ballots Friday, as the Bend-area mail now routed through Portland could mean it won’t arrive at her office by the 8 p.m. Tuesday deadline.
The Secretary of State’s Office had said that Friday was the last day to safely mail ballots and have them count, but Blankenship said that’s not really the case here.
Voters in Deschutes County should take their ballots to a drop site if the ballots were not in the mail by Wednesday, she said
In order for your vote to count in the current election, the Deschutes County Clerk’s Office must receive ballots by the deadline of 8:00 pm on Election Day, Tuesday.
Drop-box locations and hours are located in your Voters Pamphlet and online at www.oregonvotes.org
