KTVZ

WorkSource Oregon and Community Partners are announcing National Career Readiness Certificate opportunities in Central Oregon throughout December.

Over 250 seats are available in Bend, Madras, Prineville and Redmond. This certificate is open to all individuals aged 16 and above and is free.

The NCRC helps job seekers demonstrate their skills to employers, helps employers find qualified employees, and helps our community gain State and National recognition for having a skilled workforce.

The NCRC is comprised of three assessments that measure an individual’s foundational skills needed for employment, and provides job seekers with a competitive advantage by demonstrating skills employers need.

Additionally, The American Council on Education (ACE) has endorsed the NCRC at the Silver and Gold level as a certificate that qualifies for up to three college credits in critical thinking.

Also, a gold-level NCRC assessment can satisfy high-school graduation requirements for reading and math. This certificate is recognized nationwide.

On October 29th, Governor Kitzhaber signed a proclamation in support of the NCRC in Oregon ,stating that the certificate has provided “more than 35,000 Oregon youth, adults, and dislocated workers the opportunity to build their skills and certify their college and career readiness… and had decrease[d] turnover, and improve[d] recruiting, hiring and on the job processes.”
