OAS has three adaptive teams in this year’s PPP

KTVZ

Oregon Adaptive Sports (OAS) is hosting three adaptive teams to race in the 2015 U.S. Bank Pole Pedal Paddlet.

This multi-sport event on May 16 must have at least three race legs completed by persons with disabilities.

There are a few more race slots available for people with disabilities. Any persons with disabilities interested in racing regardless of age and background should contact OAS (www.oregonadaptivesports.org). Here, the only disability is a closed mind.

Support is provided by OAS staff and volunteers where needed. In addition, support from the community and local businesses towards the inspiring athletes enable OAS to continue to provide scholarships, to educate, to train, and recruit volunteers ultimately empowering people with disabilities to partake in outdoor recreation.

The unofficial team captain for all three teams, Geoff Babb, who has done the alpine leg for the last five years, says “It’s the most inspirational day of the year for me.”
