Jefferson County hit by pair of power outages

KTVZ

A pair of power outages hit Jefferson County and Crooked River Ranch Friday morning, with CRR affected by both of the blackouts, Pacific Power officials said.

Utility representative Ry Schwark said the first, 23-minute outage began around 5:49 a.m. and lasted 23 minutes, affecting 10,700 customers over a wide area of Jefferson County.

Portland General Electric was doing maintenance at its Round Butte transmission substation, Schwark said, and “lost a key transmission line” that was later restored.

The second, likely related outage affected 2,553 customers in the Crooked River Ranch area, who lost power for about an hour, he said.
