Bottle returns can benefit Redmond’s BrightSide
A new feature on the BottleDrop Redemption Center website is making it easier than ever to support BrightSide Animal Center while keeping bottles and cans out of Oregon streams and landfills.
Our organization is now registered on www.bottledropcenters.com, allowing the existing 80,000 BottleDrop account holders to make direct donations to our cause online. Anyone with a BottleDrop account can donate to us simply by redeeming bottles and cans and transferring the funds to our BottleDrop Featured Fundraising account. All donated funds go directly to our featured charity organization.
Last year over 1 million bottles and cans were donated through our bottle and can drop sites at trailers throughout the Bend/Redmond area. Now we can expand our program and include donors throughout the State of Oregon to participate. Many of our adoptions are those who are not local and may want to participate and this is a great way to support our mission.
To sign up for a BottleDrop account and be able to donate, visit any BottleDrop center and fill out an application. Find a location near you at www.bottledropcenters.com/locations.
Charities that have been approved as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit by the IRS can apply for a BottleDrop Featured Fundraising account online at www.bottledropcenters.com/fundraising.
BottleDrop Redemption Centers are owned and operated by Oregon Beverage Recycling Cooperative (OBRC). They are stand-alone facilities that offer consumers several options to return deposit containers, including the BottleDrop Account Program. This program allows consumers to fill green BottleDrop bags at home or work and drop them off at one of our 14 BottleDrop locations. BottleDrop staff count the containers and transfer the deposits onto the customer’s account. BottleDrop accounts can be managed at any of our BottleDrop Redemption Centers, at participating grocery stores, or online at www.bottledropcenters.com.
BrightSide is ahigh-saveshelterfocused on sheltering andrehabilitating animals, and equipping them for success in their next home. We believe that every animal that enters through our back receiving door deservesthe chance to leave through our front door with a secure future. By donating your recyclable can and bottles through the BottleDrop program at OBRC you can help us continue to serve and keep Oregon green!
OBRC is a member-owned, cooperative corporation that acts on behalf of beverage distributors to administer Oregon’s bottle bill; collecting and processing nearly all containers sold and redeemed in Oregon. OBRC counts, sorts, crushes, bales, and recycles 1.2 billion containers each year. Nothing goes to waste – 100% of the bottle and cans are recycled. The entire process is funded and managed by the beverage and grocery industries – at no cost to taxpayers.
