Linn County transient jailed in Redmond check fraud case

KTVZ

A transient from Linn County was arrested by Redmond police on Tuesday, accused of writing fraudulent checks in large amounts at area RV dealers, and officers said Wednesday they are looking for any other victims.

Police on Tuesday began investigating allegations that Aaron Paul Bostwick Sr., 48, was writing fraudulent checks to buy RV generators and related items at Big Country RV and other dealers, said Lt. Mike Kidwell.

The investigation found that Bostwick had been in Central Oregon for about three days, writing checks under a closed business account in the name of APB Collections, signed by either Bostwick or Todd Greiner.

Bostwick was booked into the Deschutes County Jail on charges of first-degree forgery, first degree theft and giving false information to a police officer.

Jail records show Bostick is being held without bail on a parole violation and also is charged with second-degree theft and criminal driving with a suspended or revoked license.

Redmond police asked to hear from any business that accepted a check from Bostwick to report the incident by contacting them through the county dispatch number, (541) 693-6911.
