Two shot, wounded in John Day; one critical
Two John Day men were shot and wounded, one critically, at a trailer park in John Day late Thursday night, and a suspect has been identified and interviewed, authorities said.
Grant County 911 received a call around 10:49 p.m. regarding the shooting at the John Day Trailer Park, 600 West Main Street, said District Attorney Jim Carpenter.
Christopher Woodell, 32, was flown by air ambulance to St. Charles Bend, where he was in critical condition, according to Carpenter.
The second victim, Eric Towers, 35, was taken by ambulance to Blue Mountain Hospital in John Day, where he was treated and released, Carpenter said in a news release distributed by Oregon State Police.
“A suspect has been identified and interviewed and the investigation is ongoing,” Carpenter said.
Along with John Day police, OSP and Grant County sheriff’s deputies are involved in the investigation, he added. OSP is leading the investigation, according to Sgt. Kyle Hove.
