Matching donor gives boost to Redmond merry-go-round project
Funding for the accessible merry-go-round at Sam Johnson Park received a shot in the arm this week when an anonymous donor agreed to match up to $24,000 in contributions from the public.
The park was dedicated in October, but without the merry-go-round which was part of the original design. It will cost $55,000, but $7,000 has already been raised.
To stimulate funding for the merry go round, Kiwanis and the City of Redmond recently launched a Go-Fund-Me drive at https://www.gofundme.com/Hope-Playground.
Checks should be made out to the Redmond Kiwanis Foundation. They can be mailed to P.O. Box 253, Redmond, Oregon 97756.
Donors of $100 or more will receive a personalized paver brick in the playground, or for $5,000 business and individuals can have a double-sized brick.
