Man turns self in after Portland anti-trump protest
PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — A 21-year-old man who was caught on video kicking an occupied car during a protest against President-elect Donald Trump earlier this month has turned himself in to Portland police.
Portland police say in a statement that Miguel Rebello was booked Sunday on charges of criminal mischief and disorderly conduct.
Police say Rebello kicked a car during the demonstration that was occupied by a young woman and two small children.
Numerous people called in tips to police after seeing Rebello’s picture posted on a website being used by authorities to identify those who committed crimes during the protests.
Hundreds of people took to the streets for days in Portland to protest Trump’s election.
Many protests were peaceful, but some grew violent and involved clashes with police.
