Storms linger into the evening, flooding possible along with dangerous lightning

BEND, Ore. (KTVZ) Rainy and stormy pattern comes to an end in the late afternoon or early evening. The region is under a Flash Flood Watch until 8 pm as pockets of heavy rain over recently burned areas may become overrun by the rainwater. Debris flows and flash flooding is possible. For this reason, we have issued a Local Alert Weather Day for the heavy rain and potential for flooding.  The roads through these regions may become compromised by water and/or debris so be aware if you are traveling in these areas.

The storms taper off before our regional fireworks displays and should go off without a hitch. Some low clouds may impact the viewing, but it does appear that the area will be void of any stormy weather.

Saturday will be a pleasant and dry day as the mercury in the thermometer gets back into the low 80s. Plenty of sunshine and light winds will define the day. If you had plans interrupted by the rainy weather today, Saturday will be a great day for any outdoor activities.

Sunday will begin a noticeable warming trend as the high temperatures reach the upper 80s. Mostly sunny and dry weather should allow for another great day outside.

Monday starts a run of hot conditions as highs reach the low to middle 90s. There will be mostly sunny skies allowing the temps to reach that level. Normal highs for this time of year should be around the low 80s. Tuesday will be the hottest day of the run of 90s as we hit the middle to upper 90s. Some clouds arrive in the afternoon Wednesday and a stray shower or pop-up storm is not out of the question. Highs still in the low 90s even with the chance for some storms. Thursday may break the string of 90s with a high of 89. Back to the heat Friday as we hit the low 90s again.  Summer is here!

Please stay safe and have fun.
