Eugene police pull man from creek, arrest in fatal stabbing

EUGENE, Ore. (AP) – Police have made an arrest in the fatal stabbing of a man at an apartment near South Eugene High School.

The Register-Guard reports (https://is.gd/8o7fDl ) 37-year-old Joshua Paul Jaschke was booked into jail early Tuesday on a murder charge.

Officers pulled Jaschke from a creek near the apartment shortly after Monday’s stabbing was reported.

Luke Wheeler lives in the apartment building where the violence occurred. He tells the newspaper that the man pulled from the water tried to break into his apartment and had blood on his hands.

It took six police officers to subdue Jaschke. The newspaper reports he appeared to be in mental distress, screaming from the back of the patrol car about Donald Trump and having a bomb inside his body.
