Redmond crews douse fire outside church
Fire crews put out a fire on an exterior wall of the Christian Church of Redmond Wednesday evening, arriving as a bystander tried to extinguish it with a garden hose.
Firefighters were called around 7:30 p.m. to the Christian Church of Redmond on Southwest 10th Street, Fire Marshal Traci Cooper said.
They arrived to find a fire burning on an exterior wall of the church, along with some juniper bushes, and the bystander using a hose to try to stop its spread.
Firefighters were able to put out the blaze before it could spread to the building’s interior, Cooper said. No injuries were reported, and the losses were estimated at $3,000.
The cause of the fire is undetermined, pending further investigation, Cooper said.
