Local Alert Weather – Wed. PM

KTVZ

Happy Wednesday evening, everyone!

AN EXCESSIVE HEAT WARNING STAYS IN EFFECT FOR THE REGION THROUGH TOMORROW NIGHT FOR UNSEASONABLY HOT TEMPERATURES. WE’LL BE WARM OVERNIGHT AS WELL. TEMPERATURES WILL BE IN THE TRIPLE DIGITS THURSDAY.

A FIRE WEATHER OR RED FLAG WARNING GOES INTO EFFECT TOMORROW AND STAYS IN EFFECT THROUGHOUT THE DAY. RELATIVE HUMIDITY LEVELS WILL BE LOW AND WINDS WILL BECOME GUSTY ON FRIDAY. ANY FIRES THAT SHOULD START WOULD SPREAD RAPIDLY.

Overnight lows tonight will be warm in the mid to upper 50s. Winds will be calm, so the air won’t move much. Smoky skies are expected overnight and air quality levels will likely worsen over the coming days.

Tomorrow will likely be our hottest day of the year. The forecasted high in Redmond is 105 for Thursday, which would break a record of 100. This will be our last “very hot” day for the extended forecast.

As we head into the end of the week a trough will move inland bringing much cooler temperatures. Highs will be in the low to mid 90s. Friday will see breezy conditions gusting around 20 to 25 miles per hour.

By Saturday we’re back to the 80s, which takes us below average. Mostly sunny skies are expected.

Stay cool for the next few days, and know relief is on the way for the weekend!

— Emily
