Local Alert Weather – Thurs. PM
Happy Thursday evening, everyone!
Tonight we have a chance for snow showers totaling 1-2″ across the High Desert. The Cascades and mountain passes could see about 2-5″ over the next 24 hours. Expect roads to be icy with areas of packed snow overnight. Lows will fall into the teens for another cold start tomorrow morning. We’re below average by about 10 degrees. Mostly cloudy skies will be overhead apart from the chance for snow showers.
Tomorrow sees a start with snow levels around 2,100′ falling to 800′ by the evening. We’ll see a chance for snow showers in the first half of the day Friday followed by a drying trend going into the weekend. Daytime highs will be in the low to mid 30s, which is about 15 degrees below average for this time of year.
Heading into the weekend we will still see dry conditions with decreasing chances for snow showers. Overnight lows into Saturday will be in the teens.
Daytime highs for Saturday and Sunday will be in the 20s and low 30s. We can expect clouds throughout the course of the weekend with some sun breaks for higher elevations or areas closer to the Cascades.
During the next several days expect a “freeze, thaw” pattern with snow on the roads melting throughout the day and then freezing through the overnight.
