Sisters Urban Forestry Board seeks new member

The City of Sisters is accepting applications for a volunteer to serve on the Urban Forestry Board, which is tasked with providing guidance for management of the urban forest, including all trees located within public right-of-way, parks and public places owned or controlled by the City, and providing recommendations to staff regarding City ordinances and Codes involving trees.

The UFB has one open position for a one-year term. The applicant for this position should have the skills and knowledge to effectively represent the land development community.

The Urban Forestry Board meets monthly, or as needed or directed by the City Council. The Board consists of five members appointed by the Mayor, with the consent of the Council.

Applications can be found on the City website at www.ci.sisters.or.us or pick one up at Sisters City Hall located at 520 E. Cascade Avenue. Applications will be accepted until 5:00 PM on Friday, April 19.
