(Update: adding video from 5PM broadcast)
KLAMATH COUNTY, Ore. (KOBI-5) – Community efforts are underway to help the families of four Klamath County residents killed in a car crash outside of Chiloquin on Highway 97. The ages of those who passed were 13, 13, 15, and 21 years old.
According to Oregon State Police, a Toyota 4Runner, driven by 21-year-old Trevor Christian McNally of Klamath Falls, was traveling northbound on Highway 97 just before 8 a.m on Sunday, December 22nd.
OSP says McNally lost control of the vehicle, crossing into oncoming traffic and ultimately collided with a semi-truck that was traveling southbound.
McNally and three of his passengers died at the scene including a 13-year old boy and girl and a 15-year old female exchange student from Germany.
A fourth passenger, 19-year-old Wyatt McNally was injured and taken to an area hospital as well as the driver and passenger of the semi-truck.
Tragically, two local families are facing the unthinkable right now, but the community around them is stepping up to help with expenses.
Thanks to assistance from the Air National Guard at Kingsley Field as well as the Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association, fundraisers for both families have already far exceeded their goals.
