BLM Closes Public Lands in Crook County Due to Wildfire
PAULINA, Ore. – The Bureau of Land Management has temporarily closed several public lands in Crook County due to an active wildfire. The closure is intended to protect public safety, assist emergency responders and safeguard natural resources.
The closure takes effect immediately and includes the following areas:
- South Fork Wilderness Study Area
- Lands north of the study area to Highway 380 and east of Camp Creek Road
- Steens Ridge Road
- Upper Table Road
- Congleton Hollow Road
Public access is prohibited until further notice. Exceptions are in place for emergency personnel, BLM employees and individuals with pre-existing access rights.
“We appreciate your understanding as we prioritize safety and resource integrity during this critical time,” the agency said in a statement.
