Deschutes reports three more cases and Jefferson two

PORTLAND, Ore. (KTVZ) -- COVID-19 has claimed two more lives in Oregon, raising the state’s death toll to 153, the Oregon Health Authority reported Saturday.

Oregon Health Authority reported 55 new confirmed and presumptive cases of COVID-19 as of 12:01 a.m. Saturday, bringing the state total to 4,185, along with 122,610 negative results.

The new confirmed and presumptive cases reported Saturday are in the following counties: Clackamas (1), Deschutes (3, for a total of 124), Douglas (1), Hood River (2), Jefferson (2, for a total of 30), Klamath (2), Lane (1), Marion (7), Multnomah (21), Umatilla (2), Wasco (1), Washington (12).

Notes due to data reconciliation:

  • One case previously reported in Morrow County was determined not to be a case; the county case count has been adjusted to reflect this.

Oregon’s 152nd COVID-19 death is a 62-year-old man in Lane County who tested positive on May 4 and died on May 4; the location of death is awaiting confirmation. He had underlying medical conditions.

Oregon’s 153rd COVID-19 death is a 93-year-old woman in Polk County who tested positive on May 2 and died on May 28 at her residence. She had underlying medical conditions.

Clarification: The investigation into the COVID-19 outbreak at Duckwall Fruit in Hood River County began May 28. The date was incorrectly reported in Friday’s daily media release.

OHA previously announced that it will begin reporting large COVID-19 outbreaks in workplaces. This will include all past and future outbreaks that involve five or more COVID-19 cases in a workplace setting. OHA is in the process of compiling information on past outbreaks.

The Oregon Health Authority is now including a link to the Oregon COVID-19 Daily Update in the daily news release. The Daily Update is a detailed look at COVID-19 in Oregon, including testing data, hospital capacity, and cases broken down by demographic information such as age groups, gender, race and ethnicity.

To see more case and county level data, please visit the Oregon Health Authority website, which OHA updates once a day:

  1. I don’t understand how they keep count of the people who are dying from COVID. I mean one of the two people listed today as passing away passed almost 4 weeks ago. Why is this person just now being counted? Is he being counted twice? I’ve noticed this happening with the dates of deaths several times in the past month or so.

    1. Ya I hadn’t been paying attention to that and it is VERY fishy. The 93 year old was tested positive 26 days prior to death…. By all accounts the norm is that she would not haven’t tested positive anymore on the day of death.

This is more evidence that anyone that tests positive but dies from other causes is being listed as a covid death.

    2. No one will answer this question, so we are left to assume that “underlying medical condition(s)” means that on the Death Certificate, the Covid-19 virus is NOT listed as the “immediate cause” of death.

Instructions for the Physician who fills out a death certificate in Oregon (form 45-2(01/06) under CAUSE OF DEATH are as follows –
LINE a. – Final Disease or condition resulting in death (IMMEDIATE CAUSE).
LINES b.,c.,etc – – “Sequentially list conditions, if any, leading to the cause listed on line a. ENTER THE UNDERLYING CAUSE LAST (disease or injury that initiated the events resulting in death).

Then there is a line for “Other significant conditions contributing to death, but not resulting in the underlying cause given above.
Question – has ANYBODY had Covid-19 listed on line a. of their death certificate as the “IMMEDIATE
CAUSE”?? A simple, direct question, hoping that the answer wouldn’t violate the HIPAA privacy rules.

  2. Three good questions above- “challenging” the clearly fraudulent recording methods coming out of Oregon’s various health departments- as it appears they are all in CYA mode- which KTVZ is more than happy to go along with- as the Z is just as guilty of pushing this hoax- this false narrative- this organized assault on the Oregon economy… here’s more…

If you now go to the two links provided above- the “Daily Updates” and the “Healthoregon Profile”- you will find a significant difference in “wording”… as it appears “Influenza Like Illness (ILI)” has been replaced with “Covid Like Illness (CLI)”… without any explanation at all.

We also find a new group of data providers out there- called “Oregon Essence”- who are to provide “emergency department” visits from 60 non-federal hospitals in Oregon.

There is clearly an attempt to confuse the population here with vocabulary changes-corrections of old and new data- while simplistic discussions go completely ignored- we see where one of the most recent fatalities was diagnosed with the virus and died all in the same day- and of course- he had “underlying conditions- which tells me he didn’t die of Corona !

Oregonians beware- the scam continues as Democrats statewide double down on their attack !
