Crook County appoints Will Van Vactor as interim county manager, starts recruitment process for permanent position

PRINEVILLE, Ore. (KTVZ) -- Crook County announced Thursday the appointment of Will Van Vactor as the interim county manager. Van Vactor, who currently serves as the Community Development Department director, "will step into this role effective immediately, bringing with him a wealth of professional experience and expertise," the county said.

In his role as Community Development Director, Mr. Van Vactor has demonstrated a commitment to fostering cooperation and achieving results. His ability to forge partnerships and streamline processes has earned him respect both within the organization and throughout the community.

"We are confident in Will's ability to lead the County forward during this transition," stated Commissioner Susan Hermreck. "His proven track record of collaboration and consensus-building will be invaluable as we navigate both the challenges and opportunities ahead."

"I appreciate the opportunity to serve Crook County in this capacity," said Van Vactor. "I look forward to working closely with the Commissioners, County staff, and community stakeholders to ensure continuity and progress during this interim period while also assisting our collective efforts to recruit and retain a permanent County Manager."
