Debate revived: Connect Bend wants to build a footbridge across Deschutes

The idea of a footbridge came up before and was hotly debated, but was shelved by the Bend Park and Rec District in 2017 amid fierce debate. The bridge would connect the east and west sides of the Deschutes River on Bend's south end.
