Changes on the way for the High Desert

ktvz

Happy Saturday, Central Oregon!

It was a pleasant day, with cool temperatures for us on the High Desert.

Things are set to change, though, as we head through the rest of the weekend and into the upcoming week.

Overnight, we are looking at partly cloudy skies and temperatures dropping down into the upper 20s to low to mid 30s.

Then Sunday will bring chances for rain showers throughout much of the day, with highs in the mid to upper 40s and low 50s.

Things will be breezy at times too on Sunday with winds out of the south at 5-15 MPH and we could see gusts up around 20 MPH.

Sunday night into Monday is when we could start to see some chances for snow showers to develop, as that is when we will start to see the snow levels drop down to around 2500 feet.

It doesn't look like at this point we will see a ton of snow on the High Desert, but the mountain passes could possibly see around a foot of snow by Wednesday before things start to dry out.

Keep in mind if you are traveling for the Thanksgiving holiday that you will likely encounter snowy conditions going over the passes.

By Thanksgiving, though, we will see things clear up and cool down.

That trend of cold temperatures and sunshine will last through the next weekend, with single-digit lows expected.

Have a great rest of your weekend, Central Oregon!
